Itinerary

Day 1 - ModerateCusco - Tarayoc - Wayllabamba (L, D)

Your first day starts when we pick you up from your hotel in Cusco. Have your breakfast and pack your belongings for the trek so you can ride our spacious private van. Join the tour guide who waits for you in the van. The first stop is Ollantaytambo (9160.1 ft / 2792 m) and later, you will get off at Kilometer 82 (also Piscacucho), the starting point of the trek (8776.3 ft / 2675 m). You will have enough time to stretch outside the vehicle, make use of the toilet, purchase supplies or have a snack in both places.

You will start the Private Inca Trail Tour through wide and warm paths along Sacred Valley scenarios. Four hours later, lunch is ready at Tarayoc campsite (8776.3 ft /2675 m) and two hiking hours later, your feet will have a rest in Wayllabamba (9744.1 ft / 2970 m). Be ready for a starry night in the warm forest of the Andes after a delicious dinner made by professional cooks and a good rest in air beds.

Day 2 - ChallengingWayllabamba - Llulluchupampa - Pacaymayo (B, L D)

How is your first sunrise at the campsite? Be happy, because you have your travel mates on your side and a delicious breakfast before undertaking the path. Your boots will step in more steep terrains as you reach Ravine of Ayapata (10918.7 ft / 3328 m). Have lunch, a nice conversation and restart your way. Small breaks to take pictures and share discoveries will help you to enjoy this challenging day. You will have another chance to enjoy a delicious lunch in Llulluchapampa campsite (12335.9 ft / 3760 m). Good times keep on going as you ascend up to the Dead Woman’s Pass (13828.7 ft / 4215 m) the highest location throughout the trail. Congratulations, all of you made it to the top of the Private Inca Trail Tour!

Descending paths and thoughts will accompany you until the Pacasmayo Ravine (11482.9 ft / 3500 m) welcomes you. The huge variety of vegetation, sounds and feelings will be a perfect reason to get together and chat at dinner time.

Day 3 - ModeratePacaymayo - Chaquicocha - Phuyupatamarca (B, L, D)

We hope your body is ready for more adventures! First, breakfast and then a short quest to the Runkurakay Inca site. What is the story behind its walls? As you wonder and cross the Runkurakay Pass (12975.7 ft / 3955 m) hike downhill to the next treasure, the Inca town of Sayacmarca (11761.8 ft / 3585 m). What is next? The mountains are still on your side by the Chaquicocha campsite (11597.8 ft / 3535 m) for lunch. Mile by mile, your feet will reach the fortress above the clouds, named Phuyupatamarca (12040.7 ft / 3670 m). Having dinner within the clouds will be the best story ever. This night is also special as is the last with the porters. Share a toast with them and know the people behind your comfort!

Day 4 - ModeratePhuyupatamarca - Machu Picchu - Cusco (B, L, D)

Wake up at 4:30 am, have breakfast and keep on going. You now have three days more of hiking experience. The rewards of today are the views of the Wiñaywayna archaeological site (8694.2 ft / 2650 m), the entrance to the world wonder at the Sun Gate (9022.3 ft / 2750 m) and Machu Picchu citadel (7972.4 ft / 2430 m). One hour to listen to explanations, see exquisite architecture, feel the magic of the place and satisfy curiosity.

After your guided tour, it is time to appreciate how you have overcome such a challenging trek in a very comfortable way. Finally, board the vehicle to Aguas Calientes town and meet our representative who will guide you to your hotel in Cusco. This is the finale of the Private Inca Trail Tour.
